A method for connecting body and mind
Sophrology is a mind–body method that brings body and mind together to support well-being and relaxation, and to help you build more positivity within yourself. It combines breathing, muscle release and visualisation. It helps you become more aware of your sensations, ease tension and develop your resources.
Each session is adapted to your needs and your pace: I start from what emerges here and now, while keeping your original request in mind. I welcome you in a warm, supportive setting in Paris’s 15th arrondissement.
Why book a sophrology session?
You don’t need to be going through a hard time to try sophrology. These are the reasons people most often come to see me:
- Managing stress and emotions, anxiety, overwork (burnout)
- Sleep: learning to relax so you can rest better
- Self-confidence and personal development
- Mental preparation for key moments: exams, public speaking, competitions, concentration
- Pain management, preparing for a procedure, support during medical treatment, alongside your usual follow-up care
- Motherhood: pregnancy, managing emotions, preparing for childbirth.
If you’re wondering whether your situation fits, the discovery call is there for exactly that.

Caycedian Sophrology

The word “sophrology” comes from Greek: sôs (harmony, balance), phrèn (mind, consciousness) and logos (study): the study of consciousness in harmony. It was created in the 1960s by Alfonso Caycedo, a Spanish psychiatrist. It draws in particular on yoga, Jacobson’s relaxation, autosuggestion (the Coué method), hypnosis and phenomenology.
- The principle of positive action: you focus your attention on positive sensations, to influence body and mind in a favourable way.
- The body as lived reality: becoming more aware of your body helps you develop greater harmony between physical sensations and state of mind.
- A neutral, kind perspective: you learn to observe your thoughts and emotions without judging them, with some distance.
What happens during a sophrology session?
- Welcome and conversation: we talk about your expectations, your needs and how you are feeling right now. This lets me adapt the session and set a clear goal.
- Dynamic relaxation: inspired by yoga and Zen, it combines breathing, muscle release and concentration, to help you feel your body more fully and quieten the mind.
- Sophronisation: guided by my voice, you enter a state of deep relaxation, conducive to insights. You work with mental images suited to your goal (confidence, stress management, mental preparation…).

My Background
I lived abroad for 16 years, which gave me an open mind and a real curiosity about other people. It means I can also support international clients, expats, and people who speak Spanish, English and Italian. After a career in marketing and then human resources in international companies, I chose a path that resonates with my values and my personality. I trained first in coaching and skills assessment (bilan de compétences), then in Gestalt therapy, sophrology and Ericksonian hypnosis.
I am a sophrologist trained in the approach of Alfonso Caycedo, the founder of sophrology.
Today I support people who want to bring relaxation, a sense of being grounded in the body, and positivity into their everyday lives and
get things moving again.
I trained in sophrology at the Académie de Sophrologie de Paris.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is sophrology? It’s a method that uses breathing, muscle release and visualisation to calm body and mind and help you become more aware of your sensations. It was created in the 1960s by Alfonso Caycedo.
- How is it different from hypnosis? Sophrology mainly uses breathing and gentle movement to calm body and mind; hypnosis works with a state of deep relaxation to address blocks or habits. The two can be combined, depending on what you need.
- How many sessions should I plan for? It depends on what brings you. In general, 6 to 8 sessions, at least 2 weeks apart. A session lasts 1 hour and costs €80.
- Can sophrology be combined with therapy? Yes. Sophrology is a complementary tool to Gestalt therapy, which I use case by case, for example for anxiety, exam or presentation nerves, or sleep. You can also come for sophrology alone.
- Are sessions reimbursed? They are not reimbursed by French public health insurance (Assurance Maladie). Some supplementary health insurance plans (mutuelles) cover part of the cost, often under a “wellbeing” or “prevention” allowance: check with your provider. An invoice can be provided after each session.
