Hypnosis: Towards Lasting Change

Hypnosis takes you into an altered state of consciousness, close to daydreaming: your attention narrows to what matters, the mind relaxes, and it becomes easier to take what is good for you more deeply into the unconscious. I use suggestions and guided visualisation to support the change you want, and above all I adapt to your situation.

Every session is unique, because you are too. Whether you come with a one-off request or for more in-depth support, I welcome you in a caring setting, at your own pace, in a safe space.

When Should You Consider Hypnosis?

You don’t have to be in a bad place to try hypnosis. It is an approach used in psychotherapy, in coaching and sometimes in medicine.

These are the most common reasons people come to see me:

  • Managing stress, anxiety and emotions
  • Self-confidence and self-esteem
  • Sleep difficulties and concentration
  • Phobias, fears (exams, public speaking, apprehension), OCD
  • Stopping smoking, weight management
  • Chronic pain
  • Trauma

If you’re wondering whether hypnosis is right for your situation, that is exactly what the discovery call is for.

Ericksonian Hypnosis

Milton Erickson (1901-1980), psychiatrist and psychotherapist, renewed hypnosis by developing a flexible approach, adapted to each person, that draws on figurative language and indirect suggestion. His work has inspired many approaches to brief therapy.

Ericksonian hypnosis uses a range of techniques to invite an altered state of consciousness, while respecting the uniqueness of each person. Its main characteristics are as follows:

  • A natural state: we all know it, whether as daydreaming or as absorption in a task we love. Hypnosis guides it deliberately, to give you access to your own resources.
  • Indirect language: metaphors, open suggestions and little stories help to get around the resistance of the conscious mind, without imposing anything on you.
  • Gentle support: I guide you without forcing anything, and at your own pace. You stay aware of what is happening, and you can stop the session at any time.

What Happens in a Hypnosis Session?

  1. Welcome and conversation: we talk about what brings you here, what you expect and what you want from the session. It’s also the time to ask your questions and ease any apprehension.
  2. Induction: through my voice and suitable suggestions, I gradually guide you into a state of deep relaxation, halfway between waking and sleep.
  3. Working in a hypnotic state: through metaphors, visualisation and suggestions, we draw on your inner resources to move towards the change you want.
  4. Coming back and talking it through: you return gradually to your usual waking state. We take a moment to talk about what you experienced.

My Background

I lived abroad for 16 years, which gave me an open mind and a curiosity about others. This means I can also support international clients, expats, and people who speak Spanish, English and Italian. After a career in marketing and then human resources in international companies, I chose a path that resonates with my values and my personality. I trained first in coaching and in skills assessment (bilan de compétences), then in Gestalt therapy, sophrology and Ericksonian hypnosis.

I am an Ericksonian hypnosis practitioner.
Hypnosis complements my Gestalt therapy practice. The method is very flexible and responds to each person’s specific needs.

Today I support people who want to move towards greater well-being and a stronger sense of alignment with who they are.

I trained in Ericksonian hypnosis at the Association Française de Nouvelle Hypnose (AFNH), the French New Hypnosis Association.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Will I lose control under hypnosis? No. You always stay conscious and aware of what is happening, and you can stop the session at any time.
  • Do I need to be “receptive” for it to work? Everyone experiences hypnosis in their own way, and sensations vary from one person and one session to the next. We talk about it before we begin, and I guide you at your own pace.
  • How many sessions should I plan for? Depending on your request, from 1 to 5 sessions or more, at least 3 weeks apart. A session lasts 1 hour and costs €90.
  • Can hypnosis be combined with therapy? Yes, hypnosis is a complementary tool to Gestalt therapy, which I use case by case depending on what emerges in the session. You can also come only for a hypnosis session.
  • Are sessions reimbursed? They are not reimbursed by French public health insurance (Assurance Maladie). Some supplementary health insurance plans (mutuelles) cover part of the cost, often under a “wellbeing” or “prevention” allowance: check with yours. An invoice can be provided after each session.
